The FS Style of Artwork

I am trying to develop a FS art style. I think this will help aid potential artists to understand what I am looking for.

Armor consist of three primary styles; Full Power Armor, Full Plate Armor, and Partial Plate Armor. Due to the war, and the reduces lines of supplies, most Power Armor is hand me downs from prior generations. It is difficult to get new power armor unless you are well connected with the MegaCorporations or in the ranks of the Empire. As a result most rather dinged up, and having been passed down from generation to generation have been engraved, and show family heraldic markings. Plate Armor is much lighter and more readily purchased new. It consists of various armor plates that are worn over a body suit. When all pieces are present it would resemble the armor of a storm trooper. When the essential pieces are worn it would look like the armor from Aliens, or Starship Troopers.

Weapons consist of three primary styles; Energy Ranged Weapons, Ballistic Ranged Weapons, and Energy Hand Weapons. Energy Ranged Weapons fired lasers or similar looking beam weapons. They are the most prevalent in the FS universe, since they can be readily rearming by charging the power packs. Ballistic Ranged Weapons are a little more rare since they fire ammunition that is harder to come by again due to the war and available supplies. Both of these weapons would look like the weapons from Star Wars, Aliens, and Starship Troopers. Energy Hand Weapons will appear similar to lightsabers from Star Wars, however they actually retain the properties and appearance of the weapon. A energy sword would still look like sword with cutting damage, an energy warhammer would look like a warhammer and deliver concussive damage. When the weapon is turned off it appears as simply the handle. Often this type of weapon is worn on the forearm on top of a oval like projector. This projector activates a shield shaped force field when the weapon is drawn.

Clothing has a four primary styles; medieval, clansmen, contemporary. Medieval Clothes will consist of tunics, cloaks, and robes. Accessories would be primarily of leather bags, backpacks, etc. Again in these trying times, the most modern of clothes are not available. Similar in style is the clansmen, members of large family groups, that have bonded together. They wear the typicaly Scottish kilts, and shashes displaying their colors or tartans. They will have accessories similar to medieval. They are even known from time to time to wear animal skins appropriate to the symbols of their clan. Look to BraveHeart and Rob Roy for examples. Those from the more central worlds, will have access to more modern clothing. Depnding on the role that they play in society they would where different things. An adventurer would be perhaps dressed as Blade, or trenchoats, body suits, stylish jackets, etc. The officials from the MegaCorporations would wear suit styled dress. Workmen, pilots, servicemen may wear coveralls. Look at Shadowrun, Blade, Mechwarrior etc for examples.

Vehicles, and Buildings have very angular shapes, and abstract design. Some are still wheel based, while on the core worlds they will be purely anti-gravity based. Look at movies like Judge Dredd, and BladeRunner for inspiration. Buildings should be very ornamental,and gothic in design. Large sculptures should be present, with large columns, and dark ominous shapes and shading.

Space Ships should look like the Sulaco from Aliens, the Roger Young from Starship Trooper, and the Galactica from Battlestar Galactica. For smaller ships the Blockade Runner from Star Wars, the lifeboat from Alien & Aliens, and the Ceylon fighter from Battlestar Galactica.

I realize I just quoted about 10 different movies in there, I don't want to see ripoffs of these ideas from other works. I want to see something that is completely new and original. These refernces are olny provided so that an artist, can see what I have enjoyed for science fiction. Anything that resembles directly anything from abother work will be rejected. They should only prove as inspiration and not as tracing paper.

Mechlans	Racial Description: The Mechlans are a robotic form of life. They appear as humanoid machine, and each is slightly different with it's own adaptations. Within they Mechlan social structure are several classes. The Mechlan is a worker variant. The Dreadnought is a warrior variant. The Seylon is the thinkers and leaders. The last and most ambiguous are the Derelicts. For reasons unknown they have splintered from the Mechlan Empire and now wander the galaxy seeking adventure and sometimes befriending other races. Height: 5 feet tall. Weight: 200 lbs. Life Span: 20-30 years.
Saurian	Racial Description: All Saurians are reptilian humanoids. They are extremely brawny and vastly muscled. Their skin is very thick, and very resilient. Their backs are covered in a hard carapace shell, as well as part of their forearms and the fronts of their shins. The Drake Dirs are the largest of the Saurian race, and probably the least intelligent. The Drake Dirs constantly are belligerent, and not easy to calm down. Their physical difference from Saurians are represented in the most reptile looking of the three sub-races. The Reptians are the most intelligent of the Saurians, and also the least reptile like. They posses the most humanoid looking facial structure. They are the most political and peaceful of the Saurians. Height: 7-8 feet. Weight: around 300-400 lbs. Life Span: Approximately 50-75 years
Silicones	Racial Description: The Silicones are a inorganic humanoid shaped lifeform. They have a extremely granular looking skin, almost as if they are made of sand. They are incredible strong, and they speak natively in binary language. The temperature of the silicones is very high, and they have difficulties in cold climates, which they of ten refuse to visit. If it is a necessity they will wear some type of environmental suit. Height: approximately 6 feet. Weight: approximately 300 lbs. Life Span: unknown, perhaps indefinitely.
Targon	Racial Description: The Targons appear as rough and brutish humanoids. Their Skulls are covered with ridges. They are often mistaken as ugly Heavy Worlders. Height: 6-6 feet 6 inches. Weight: 190-220 lb. Life Span: 60-75 years.

Dragoon	Racial Description: A very large reptilian humanoid. They have large wings are capable of limited flight for short distance of a couple of miles. They also have tails, and a dragon like face and snout on a long neck. Height: 14-16 feet tall. Weight: 800lbs. Life Span: unknown, but very long
Koranda	Racial Description: The Koranda appear as tall blue skinned humanoids with blue-silver hair and silver eyes. They also look are very strong but not stocky. Height: 10 feet. Weight: 500 lb.Life Span: 730-860 years.
Zitsu-Kar	Racial Description: The Zitsu-Kar appear as tall blue skinned humanoids with blue-silver hair and silver eyes. They also look very strong, menacing. Height: 15 feet. Weight: 950 lb. Life Span: 10-12 years.
KEHA	Racial Description: The Keha race is identical to humans only that they have been enslaved by the Koranda. They all wear Koranda issued armor and gray robes when not incognito. Height: 5 - 6 feet 6 inches. Weight: 120-220 lb. Life Span: 90-120 years.
KEZA	Racial Description: The Keha race is identical to normal Xanthranians only that they have been enslaved by the Koranda. A Xanthranian looks like a humanoid evolution upon the scorpion. They have a very strong silicon based carapace exoskeleton. They have six legs and a additional set that has evolved into clawed grasping hand like appendage. They also have a tail with a stinger. Height: 7 feet. Weight: 195 lb. Life Span: 20-30 years.
Xenos	Racial Description: The Xenos are a humanoid that possess a organic metal skin. This skin is very strong and acts as armor. Those that possess wings are called Orbitos. Height: 7 feet tall. Weight: 250 lbs. Life Span: 150 years.

They have six legs and a additional set that has evolved into clawed grasping hand like appendage. They also have a tail with a stinger. Height: 7 feet. Weight: 195 lb. Life Span: 20-30 years.
Darphy	Racial Description: Darphies are a insect like aliens, similar to the Xanthranian. They use either four or six legs for movement, and can use the forward most set of these limbs to attack with viscous claws, and to grasp prey to bite. They are silvery and dark gray in appearance, and posses a long tail which they can hang from. Their appetites are never satiated and they will always consume their prey. Height: 6-8 feet. Weight: 200 lbs. Life Span: Approximately 10-15 years.
